We are offering for sale an adorable scarce Westmoreland Dog on Vertical Ribbed Base Covered Jar / Box. This style box was made early in the 1900's and originally was sold as a mustard holder. This dog was not produced again in milk during the 1950's like so many of the other Westmoreland covered animal boxes. This stunning #185 Lamp was produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company. The design for this lamp was taken from the early 1800s Sandwich Whale Oil Lamps. This lamp is hard to find, but finding one with a wheel cutting is most difficult. The lamp shape is shown in Hazel Marie Weatherman's book "Colored Glassware of the Depression Era 2," on page 362.
