Hocking Green Cameo Sandwich Server

Cameo was produced by the Hocking Glass Company and was their best selling green Depression Glass pattern. This lovely pattern features a "Dancing Girl" enclosed in a cameo. The piece we have pictured is a green Cameo Sandwich Server. It is one of the rarest pieces of Cameo ever found. There are only a handful of these servers. According to a fellow from Hocking that we talked to years ago, this piece was never put into the regular line because of a shipping problem. The box they were using to ship these servers was too small and the handles were snapped off. He said that the server was put on a back shelf until a new shipping box could be designed. For some reason it just never happened. This popular Depression Glass pattern is so much fun to collect. There are so many pieces to be found! You can put together a simple setting, or you can have a huge set with more pieces than most people will ever use. RARE items seldom come along.
