Company Maker: Capodimonte (Benrose Italy)
Item: #780 Children in Garden
Circa: 1940s - 1960s
We were thrilled to obtain this large 15 3/4" figural Capodimonte Porcelin centerpiece. It was made in Italy and imported to the United States by Benrose of New York. Capodimonte figures are some of the most exquisite porcelain designs in the world. This is one of the best examples of this style pottery that we have ever owned. Our Capodimonte Children are in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The hand - painted glazing is superb!!! The base and, flower pots are in undamaged condition as well. Some of the felt around the edge of the base is missing. The only damage is so slight that it can barely be seen (even with a magnifying glass). ONE LEAF HAS A TINY CHIP ON THE EDGE --- Which really cannot even be seen. One or two of the flowers may have some gold wear on the edge. EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT!!! There is a small imperfection in the glaze from the firing (on the underside). Firing separations are common and this one does not go through to the front side of the piece. The picture of the firing separation is shown in one of the additional photos. Please enlarge it for a close up look. We are certain that you will be very pleased with the condition of this piece. We are extra picky when describing our items. You can't hold them in your hand ahead of time so we feel the need to do the looking for you. Capodimonte pieces like the one shown here were made in the 1940s through the 60s.
