Pointed-end handles, c1790 -- reverse rib, shaded block mono M (device) A on front; 5.75" in length. Bird is fully although lightly struck. Condition throughout is excellent.
Downturned fiddle handles, c1840 -- pointed shoulders, drop on the bowl back, reverse tipt, feathered script mono C R on front; 6" long, 7 Troy oz. One spoon has been replaced by a sterling example made or sold by Simons Bro. & Co. Condition of all 12 is near mint.
The O'Daniel mark is a bit strange, with a period in place of an apostrophe between the O and the D. This same error is repeated in a different mark shown in Belden.
Pointed-end handle, c1790 -- pointed drop on bowl back, brightcutting and roulette work extending half-way down handle, feathered script mono P B in cartouche on front; 5-1/4" long. Condition is very fine, no tipwear at all.
Short front rib, c1775 -- long drop on bowl back, block mono A * B on reverse of handle, over the numeral 6 (meaning that it the 6th spoon in a set of 6 or more). Length is 8-1/8", with good weight. Condition is fine, no wear to bowl.
Deep and broad front ribs, c1760 -- 11-lobe shell drop on bowl back, shaded block mono I (device) T on reverse; 7-5/8" in length. Both spoons have a modest amount of tipwear. Both have excellent marks (as shown).
Double-molded drop on bowl back, long front rib, shaded block mono I (device) V (device) A over script 1682 on reverse; 8" in length. Oversized bowl with a few shallow bumps. No wear to speak of. It looks like VanDyke's mark may have been struck a second time, but not very well.
Made by Edward Corner, Easton, c1810 -- tapered handle from end to bowl, feathered script mono E A on front; 5-1/4" in length. Bowl has a bit of wear and one or two teething marks. Mark is excellent (see pic).
Classic coffin-end handle, tapering from tip to bowl, c1800 -- roulette pointed drop on bowl back, feathered script mono B S on front; 8-3/4" in length. Weight is 1-1/2 Troy oz. Condition is excellent, with just a touch of tipwear. Mark can be found on p. 18 of "Simple Elegance" -- I (pellet) MOULTON.
Pointed-end handles, c1790 -- large double-molded drop on bowl back (see pic), feathered script mono J C B on front; 9" in length. Weight is 3-1/2 Troy oz. One has light tipwear, the other in excellent condition. These spoons are said to have come from the Bradford family of Plymouth, Mass.
9-1/8" in length -- made by D. B. Nichols, Savannah, GA, c1820-30 -- flared shoulders, 11-lobe shell drop on bowl back (rubbed), feathered script mono C W B on front. Light tipwear and some unevenness in bowl; otherwise condition is fine, with crisp basket at end of handle.
