Double-struck fiddlethread pattern, c1840 -- length of each fork is 7-1/2", combined weight of all 12 is a bit over 23 Troy oz. Mono is a feathered script M E G on the handle reverse. Condition is very good, with even tinewear.

Made by Albert Coles, NYC, c1850 -- pearl handles with strikingly colorful reddish-brown streaks; blades engraved with feathered script mono MMB; overall length is 7-1/4". Condition is excellent.

Made by R & W Wilson, Philadelphia, c1840 -- blade is 14-1/2" long and is in the shape of a fish, with styllized scales, gills and fins. Fork is 13-1/8" long, its 5 long tines with foliate and scroll decoration. Pattern is on both sides of the handle. Mono is a feathered script JFCC. Weight is 12.5+ T oz. Condition is outstanding throughout.

This is a 1998 remake of Gorham's 1864 medallion pattern. It is 9-1/2" long with good weight. It is marked GORHAM STERLING. It has never been engraved. Condition is excellent.

Set of 6 $450 

Pattern is struck on both sides with shell on back of tines; square shoulders at base of handle, feathered script mono W on reverse of handle; 8-1/4" in length. Each fork weighs 3+ oz. Troy - total is over 18-1/2 oz. Light tinewear -- otherwise condition is excellent. The W mark shown here is attributed to Wood by John R. McGrew in his book, Manufacturer's Marks on American Coin Silver. Soon after these forks were made Wood became a partner in the famed firm of Wood & Hughes.

These are in Gorham's Imperial pattern, but are only marked COIN -- gold-washed bowls, shaped handles, gothic mono EAW on reverse; 4-3/8" in length. All in excellent condition.
