Downturned fiddle handles, c1825 -- pointed shoulders, drop, script M on front (original mono removed). Length is 8-1/4". Weight is 7-3/4 Troy oz. Condition is quite good.
Oval-end fiddle handles, c1830 -- large flared shoulders, script mono O M L (or S)on front; 8-3/4" in length, good weight. Condition is near-mint, no tipwear at all. Mark is I.MUNROE in serrated rectangle, one with the pseudohallmark of a rampant lion.
Downturned fiddle handle, high pointed shoulders, prominent drop on bowl back, reverse rib, feathered script mono M J on front; 11-1/2" in length, good solid weight. Condition is near-mint.
8-1/2" in length, 2" across tines -- gothic mono on front, later script on reverse, Jan. 1, 1874. Marked PATENT 1861, STERLING, and Gorham's anchor, lion and G. Condition is near mint. Other pieces of this pattern in stock.
Upturned fiddle handle, c1825 -- 12-lobe shell at handle end, pointed shoulders, 12-lobe shell drop, script mono C. Lincoln on reverse; 7-3/4" in length. Condition is excellent.
Unusual double shoulders, one squared, one pointed; oyster shell bowl, feathered script mono P R on front; 3-7/8" in length. Condition is excellent. This Moulton worked in Newburyport from 1796 until probably his death in 1861.
Oval-end handles, c1795 -- brightcutting and roulette work entire length of handle, block mono in I C in cartouche on front; 9" in length. Birds are a tad worn but spoons are in great shape, brightcutting still crisp, marks (M&R) as clear as the day they were struck.
Made by Henry Harland, c1830 -- shaped fiddle arms, flared shoulders, paw nips, script mono M on bend; 6-7/8" long, good solid weight. Condition is excellent throughout.
Marked by John Abbot Jr., Portsmouth, NH, c1825 -- long downturned fiddle handle, square shoulders, script mono J. M. Rider on front; 10" in length, 3-5/8" oval bowl. Condition is excellent.
Double-swell fiddle handle with large flared shoulders, marked by N. J. Gilman of Portland, Maine, c1850-60. Presentation on front of handle: Mr. & Mrs. John Brackett / to / Mr. & Mrs. H. M. Brackett. The ladle is 13-1/2" long with a 4-1/4" oval bowl and weighs an imposing 8-1/2" Troy oz. Overall condition is excellent.
