Oval-end handles, c1795 -- brightcutting and roulette work entire length of handle, block mono in I C in cartouche on front; 9" in length. Birds are a tad worn but spoons are in great shape, brightcutting still crisp, marks (M&R) as clear as the day they were struck.
Marked by John Abbot Jr., Portsmouth, NH, c1825 -- long downturned fiddle handle, square shoulders, script mono J. M. Rider on front; 10" in length, 3-5/8" oval bowl. Condition is excellent.
Double-swell fiddle handle with large flared shoulders, marked by N. J. Gilman of Portland, Maine, c1850-60. Presentation on front of handle: Mr. & Mrs. John Brackett / to / Mr. & Mrs. H. M. Brackett. The ladle is 13-1/2" long with a 4-1/4" oval bowl and weighs an imposing 8-1/2" Troy oz. Overall condition is excellent.
Oval-end handle, drop on bowl back, light rib on reverse of handle, feathered script mono B. O. on front. Length is 14-7/8", bowl is 3-3/4" x 3-1/2". Condition is excellent.
Gothic pattern, c1862 -- shaped blade with a scalloped upper edge. Blade is engraved with scrolls and foliage. The piece has never been engraved. It is 12-1/8" in length and is in near-mint condition.
Forward-tipt pattern, huge flared shoulders; shaped pierced blade with scalloped edge. This slice was never engraved. It is 12-1/2" long and weights 5 T oz. Condition is near-mint.
Downturned fiddle handle, high pointed shoulders, prominent drop on bowl back, reverse tipt, feathered script mono J K T on front of handle. Length is 11", a good size for ladling soup. Condition is near-mint.
Hand-hammered teardrop bowl. End of handle pierced in floral motif. Shaded block mono E.C.C. on front; 7-5/8" in length. Excellent condition throughout.
