Featheredged oval-end handle, c1780 -- reverse tipt, shaded block mono M P on front; 4-7/8" in length. New England birdbacks are rarely seen, CT even rarer, Fairchild being the only CT maker with his mark on a birdie that we've seen. Condition of the spoon is excellent. One wishes that Master Fairchild had exercised a bit more exuberance when striking the bird, but, as they say, it is what it is, which ain't bad.
