Made by Taylor & Lawrie, c1840, retailed by Bailey & Kitchen -- forward-tipt fiddle handle with unusual double outline at end, flared shoulders, prominent drop, eagle engraved over old English mono F on reverse; 7-3/8" in length. Condition is near-mint.

Rare form in American silver. this piece was made about 1840 -- 4" diameter bowl with cast handle and hook for suspending the strainer over punch bowl. Length over handle is 5-5/8". Marked J.CONNING MOBILE (see pix. Condition is excellent throughout.

Coffin-fiddle handle, c1810-15 -- square shoulders, script mono Sally Dean on front; 5-3/4" in length. Mark is Bradbury's B with the Massachusetts eagle and Indian (see pic). Condition of both spoons and marks is near-mint.

Hand-raised baluster-form urns on circular pedestal base, cast foliate handles, body with repousse flowers, foliage and scrolls surrounding reserves on both sides, one with a feathered script mono F V, the other vacant. Handle height is 4-3/4:, diameter 4-1/2", and weight 18 Troy oz. Condition is excellent.

Made by Ball, Tompkins & Black, NYC, c1845 -- consists of 12 forks, 7" in length, and 11 knives with silver blades, 8-1/4" long (still looking for that elusive 12th knife). They all have hollow handles and have an old English mono M D on their handles. Total weight is 49 Troy oz. Condition is quite good, with the handles having the usual dings, nothing serious.

Deep front rib, c1755 -- 11-lobe shell drop on the bowl back, block mono A over S A on reverse, 4-1/8" long. Bowl with a touch of tipwear and 2 or 3 teething marks on handle end. Excellent mark and drop (see pic).

Made by John Peirce, Boston c1820 -- both arms marked PEIRCE. He is listed in the 1821 Boston Directory as an optician. These specs have temples with swing-arm extensions, which measure 6" when fully extended. Length across the lenses is 4-1/2". Condition throughout is excellent.
