This spoon is a splendid anomaly -- an 1800 form that was made no earlier than 1829, the year that McDannold began as a silversmith. This is a classic coffin-end spoon, the handle tapering is a straight line from the end to the bowl. There is a drop on the bowl back and a feathered script mono J E O on the front. It is 5-1/4" long and in excellent condition, the extended bowl tips unworn.

It is a circular plate, 12" in diameter, with a rim 1-7/8" in width. It weighs 17.5 T oz. The rim is engraved ASHEVILLE COUNTRY CLUB, The center is engraved with the event and the winner: THIRD ANNUAL INVITATION / WOMEN'S GOLF / TOURNAMENT / 1924 / FIRST FLIGHT / Mrs. ...click for details
