The only W. H. Thompson we can find is on p. 163, "Silversmiths of NC," by Cutten & Peacock. This is what they say: "During the latter part of December, 1849, and in January, 1850, the North Carolina Standard carried an advertisement ... (that) W. H. Thompson had opened a New Watch & Jewelry Store in Raleigh. His store was located in a part of the Store occupied by Mrs. Thompson as a Millinery establishment and featured a choice stock of WATCHES & JEWELRY ... all sorts of items. Thompson offered to accept Old Gold and Silver in exchange." These spoons are in near-mint condition -- oval thread, feathered script mono D L M on the front, 6" long.
