William Jones died in 1730, so this spoon has to be among the earliest Hanoverians made in the Colonies. It has a prominent front rib and a long tapering rattail (see pic). It is marked W barred I on both the handle and in the bowl (see pix of both marks). The mono is a shaded block B over W S on reverse. This spoon is in perfect condition except that the left side of the bowl tip has been restored -- perhaps 1/16" or so in width in a half-inch arc. For the purist, the restoration may be gilding the lily. For the rest of us, it sure makes the spoon -- and the price! - look better.
