This spoon is a splendid anomaly -- an 1800 form that was made no earlier than 1829, the year that McDannold began as a silversmith. This is a classic coffin-end spoon, the handle tapering is a straight line from the end to the bowl. There is a drop on the bowl back and a feathered script mono J E O on the front. It is 5-1/4" long and in excellent condition, the extended bowl tips unworn.
