Koussevitzky Conducts Prokofiev Symphony No 1 in D major "Classical" Symphony, in D, Op 25, Boston Symphony Orchestra. Recorded in Studio 22-Apr-1929. As it happens, this was also the first major work Prokofiev composed without the intermediary of the piano keyboard. koussevitzky was appointed conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1924. Koussevitsky recorded with the Boston Symphony exclusively for RCA Victor.
