Antique Binoculars, Chevalier, France

I suspect these brass /copper with leaf etching design binoculars were used during the Civil War and/or World War I. Chevalier Paris backstamp on top - made in the 1800's. They have a few dents as seen in pic. Imagine the character and history behind them. Condition: Fair to Good - considering the age.
