Trifari KTF Fruit Salad Clip Book Piece

Marked KTF and 16, this Trifari dress clip is the sole survivor of a Clipmate produced in 1936. The piece can found in Brunialti's "American Costume Jewelry" (pg. 100) in a tri-colored version. There are absolutely no dead stones on this gorgeous piece. The plating is bright and shiny with only two very tiny areas along one side with wear when viewed with a 10x loupe. This was probably caused by the insertion and removal from the Clipmate casing. The clip itself is tight and fully functional. Each of the five smaller carved, poured glass stones are damage-free and the large center stone is almost perfect. There appears to be a manufacturing flaw when the glass was poured as there is a pin prick width hole where a bit of dust has collected over the years. You can see the area (right leaf) if you look closely at our enlargements. Due to the piece's rarity, we have chosen not to try to remove the dirt. This book piece is 1 1/2" x 1 1/8".
