As this parure is a replica of a Weiss book piece (shown in Leigh Leshner's "Rhinestone Jewelry" Pg. 69 and Marcia Brown's "Signed Beauties" Pg 150) yet has figure 8 puddling on the back, we believe this set was made by De Lizza & Elster. The lovely necklace and bracelet have detailing galore, most of which are identical to the Weiss parure. The main difference of this piece from the Weiss sets shown in the two publications mentioned are the large art glass stones used (Weiss sets have large faceted rhinestones). We feel this set is far more unique as they alternate between a blue and a blue/green creating more intensity. Another internet site has the identical necklace identified as a signed Weiss so it is even more likely D&E created it and our hook could be a replacement. There is no signature on the bracelet but the clasp is also one that Weiss used. The bracelet measures 6 3/4" x 7/8" and the necklace will extend to 16". Its centerpiece is 7" x 1 1/8". One of the blue/green stones in the bracelet has been glued into place as two prongs are missing but it is very secure and not noticeable without a loupe. This set is in very good condition overall with some minimal wear to the plating. Price reflects.
