Coro Blue Enamel Rhinestone Fur Clip Book Piece

This vintage Book Piece Coro fur clip was designed by Gene Verrecchio and patented in 1941 making this piece almost 65 years old but it's not ready for retirement yet! There appears to be only negligible wear to the enamel and all paves are still brilliant; none dead or dying. One small pave between the faux moonstones appears to be a replacement as it is slightly larger than the rest and one has been reset slightly askew. The back of the brooch is tarnish-free and although the Coro name has been basically worn away, the patent number is still partially legible which allowed us to positively identify the piece. This is a substantial size measuring almost 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" at the widest point.
