This sweet little picture frame is bordered on four sides by enamel with pink roses. It is a 4 X 3 frame and has two original stickers. One sticker is the Sanger Bros. store label and the other is the one that states it is trimmed in 24 Karat gold. It has a maroon red velvet backing and a bowtie on top. This wonderful certificate was given in 1961 by the United States Navy to a worthy vessel for crossing the Equator. This item is beautifully framed with a yellow matting that suits it well, and measures 27 1/4 in. wide and 23 1/2 in. long. It is colorfully inscripted with lovely art work and the signature of the commanding officer. This wonderful piece of framed art is of what seems to be a lone clipper ship against the ruddy night sky just after sunset, and is set in a fabulous textured antique gold leaf frame. This work of art is an original colored pencil and is in very good condition for its age. This fabulous still life is from France, and has a french caption at the bottom that reads: "A Paris Chez Vilquin Md. Estampes Grande Cour Du Palais Du Tribunat No. 20".
