Sonnets From The Portuguese by Elizabeth B. Browning

These love poems have long been considered the finest ever written by a woman in the English language, and their literary excellence is surpassed on by the sonnets of Shakespeare. These poems were first published in 1850, and is composed of forty four interlocking poems which Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote secretly to her husband Robert Browning. This example is illustrated with dozens of lovely sillouettes by Fred A Mayer, and consists of 110 pages. This is a Avenel Book, a division of Crown Publishers, Inc. of New York.
