This lovely little English child's Alphabet plate from Staffordshire, England probably dates from the late 1800's around 1880. It is probably by Charles Allerton & Sons, although it is not marked. It has the raised letters around the border and features a blue transferware locomotive choo choo train coming down the railroad tracks and over a bridge. It shows some wear and there are two hairline cracks, but for it's age and having been originally intended for a child's use, it has survived quite well. It measures 6 3/4 in. in diameter. It is also marked on the back.~Enjoy!
