This is a fine excellent example of finger painting done by a Miss Phyllis Gilmour. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of two, and born to a mother who was also an artist. She studied at the art institute of Los Angeles. Her work was featured at the Los Angeles Museum, Exposition Park, Hall of Art in Beverly Hills, Esthus Gallery, Coronado Gallery, Los Angeles Art Association, and she was featured as one of the young artists at the Greek Theatre in the Griffith Park. She also painted some of California's prominent people, as well as some in the east. This information is featured on the back of this piece along with her portrait (see enlargement). This piece is untitled, but if I had to give it a name it would either be Cabana Girl or Polynesian Baby. This picture measures 31 1/2 in. tall and 25 1/4 in. wide. It is in it's original frame and is from around the 1930's-1940's. It is in wonderful condition, except for the fact that it has a few little nicks to the frame and a sun spot to the lower matted area. The painting itself is in excellent condition. ~Enjoy!
