WOW! This is a fabulous victorian chocolate candy box in the Art Deco fashion. It is made from paper mache that has been painted gold and has a gold gilt brass metal border and base and is footed. The metal has little flowers. The shape of this box is hard to describe, the fact being that it has several shapes blended together. On the bottom it has its original candy weight, unfortunately it does not give a maker or country of origin. The inside of the box and lid are fully lined with purple velvet, truly victorian. There are a few stains and minor flaws due to the age of this piece, but it is still in excellent condition for a box of this type. It measures 2 1/2 in. tall and 8 1/2 in. in diameter. There are not very many boxes like this left. Circa early 1900's. ~Enjoy!
