We began collecting about 30 years ago just because we fell in love with things that were old. As we could afford it, we would add to our collection. Sometimes the collections would come in truckloads, while others just an item at a time. We wanted to start selling sooner, but things just didn't work out. So we stored all the excess and used the rest. Does a person ever have enough space to store it all? NO! After quitting another business, I decided now was the time.

How did we get the name "Red Shak"? Here's the story, and I hope you like it!

This old guy had a rug loom I wanted and, in the process, said he was selling everything he owned. My wife, as sweet as she is, said "Why don't we buy him out, honey?" and for some unknown reason I said "o..o..Ok!" Now you know what kind of decisions I make!

This fellow was an Army sergeant in WWII and his men called him "Red" because he had blazing red hair. The first four letters of his last name was Shak, therefore the name RED SHAK ANTIQUES was born!
