Very nice Scalloped Tape pattern oval bread plate, the maker of this pattern is unknown although the pattern is c. 1880s according to Reilly and Jenks. 12 3/4" long, 9 1/4 wide and 1 3/4" high. The mold seam on this plate runs around the outer edge, there is mold roughness along this seam, a few tiny fleabites and two 1/4" chips or flakes. Not unusual on a piece this old, and it still displays nicely, but less than book price due to the slight damage. The line visible in the photo ...click for details

The Fortuna pattern was produced by the J.B. Higbee Glass Co. from 1910-1914, and later by New Martinsville. This is a Higbee piece as evidenced by the bee mark in the bowl of the compote, which New Martinsville pieces did not have. 5" in diameter and 4 3/4" tall, this compote has no damage, although there is a 1/2" long thin ridge of mold roughness on the base of the stem.

No chips or nicks, there are a few extremely light utensil marks. My wife pointed out to me the nice thing about a cakestand like this one is that you can still see the pattern even with a cake on it, unlike smaller diameter pieces. Considered an Elegant pattern rather than a Depression pattern because of the quality of the g ...click for details

Very nice pair of L.E. Smith Romanesque pattern amber candleholders, manufactured in the early 1930s. There is a great deal of mold roughness on this set, encountered sometimes with machine-made depression glass as molds became worn. Most of it is present on the ring where the candle sits in the holder, and on the inner and outer edge of the bottom or foot of the candleholders. Under the magnifying glass all of this proves to be tiny globs of glass formed when the piece was taken from the mold , ...click for details
