This is a wonderful matching pair of vintage bookends that are made out of black clay, glazed very glossy, and then cold painted. Very little of the paint is missing which is unusual for pieces this old. They measure 6.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches long and 2.25 inches wide. These are wonderful old pieces of hand painted pottery. The only damage is the back of one of the antlers has a surface chip, but you can't see it from the front. This is for 3 wonderful vintage Tom Swift children's adventure books by Victor Appleton II. The first is The New Tom Swift Jr. Adventures book 1, Tom Swift and His Flying Lab. Next book 2, Tom Swift and His Jetmarine, and last, book 3, Tom Swift and His Rocket Ship. All are circa 1954 and in excellent, almost new condition. This is a lovely set of heavy brass clam or abalone seashell bookends. They would make a great desk accessory or even nice to put towels between in the bathroom. They measure 4.75 inches tall and 4.75 inches across the widest part. They are in very good condition. They are unmarked so I don't know the age or maker.
