This is a very ornate old Victorian piece. It appears to be bronze or brass and then has gold gilding or leaf over the top. It has what looks like 6 rubies and either 2 blue opaline or turquoise cabochon jewels. It has a pen rest on the tray and an inkwell, but the lid is missing. Still it is a lovely old piece. I don't know the maker as I can find no marks on it. It does have a screw in the bottom that look like it was added to tighten up one of the pen rests. Classic Century Lustrous Chrome 0.5MM Pencil. This is a real quality writing instrument. You are actually going to receive 2 identical mechanical pencils. One works perfectly, the other has no lead in it so I'm not sure if it works. These came from an auction. They are both marked Cross.
