This is a really wonderful hand carved frog out of obsidian stone. It is black but iridescent or shimmery. It is very well carved, not crude looking. It measures 2.25 inches long and and 2.25 inches across. It does have a pretty good chip on it's one hind foot. This is not onyx. I do know know the age or carver. It is probably from Mexico.
This is a really neat carved stone horned owl sculpture of figurine. It is very smooth stone or rock and feels different most soap stone I've seen. I don't know what type of stone it is. It measures 2.25 inches tall and 2.25 inches across. It is in very good condition with very few marks on it and no damage. I don't know the age or the artist it is an auction item.
This is a really pretty hand crafted pottery plate with what looks like free form hand applied jelly fish and scored and handpainted seaweed designs. The interior surface is unglaze and the rim and back is art glazed with a brown to black tone. It measures 7 and 7/8 inches in diameter and is in excellent clean condition, no chips and no cracks. It is unmarked but very well done.
This is a wonderful art pottery piece by Cally Williams of El Paso, Texas. It is signed by the artist. It is free form with swirls and textures and a beautiful green semi-opague glaze. It measures 5.25 by 3.5 inches and is in excellent condition, no chips and no cracks. This is a very uncommon piece of handmade pottery and would be great for the pottery collector.
This is a piece of Native American pottery marked Dancing Rabbit'93 on the bottom. Signed and dated. It is terra cotta colored unglazed clay on the outside with incised pattern designs. The inside is glazed with various shades of blue, which drips down the outside. Ir look similar in style to a salt glaze, but I am not sure of the process. This is an auction item so I know nothing more about the makers. The piece is in excellent condition, no chips, no cracks and no discoloration...
