This is a wonderful rare antique Victorian book titled "Christmas Stories for Boys and Girls". It is published by The Grand Union Tea Company some time between circa 1885 and 1903. The inside front cover has a child's name and date Dec. 23, 1903 and a town in Pennsylvania in pencil. So this book is over 100 years old. This is a wonderful matching pair of vintage bookends that are made out of black clay, glazed very glossy, and then cold painted. Very little of the paint is missing which is unusual for pieces this old. They measure 6.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches long and 2.25 inches wide. These are wonderful old pieces of hand painted pottery. The only damage is the back of one of the antlers has a surface chip, but you can't see it from the front...
