This is a wonderful vintage circa 1945 to 1952 occupied Japan figurine of an Asian man with a traditional violin or fiddle, probably a erhu of the "hugin" family of instruments. This is a very nicely painted porcelain piece in shades of burnt sugar, burgundy, and navy. He has traditional clothes and I think he is Chinese, but he could be Japanese. He has a little pillbox hat and long braid, and the side buttoning shirt...

Hand painted vintage 1940s Japan lavabo 2 piece wall pocket set with original black Japan labels on both. The hand painting looks like orchids or butterflies, I'm not sure, but they are lovely shades of mauve, pink, green and black with gold paint accents. The bottom measures approx. 5 inches across and 2.5 inches tall. The top is approx. 6 inches tall and 4.75 inches wide...
