Hand Carved Ancient Aztec Deity god Black Obsidian

Museum quality hand carved black obsidian stone figurine depicting a Aztec god or deity. This is a sharply carved and highly polished stone artwork piece. Obsidian is formed when volcanic lava comes in contact with water. The lava pouring into a lake or ocean is cooled quickly which produces a glassy texture in the resulting rock. Iron and magnesium give it a dark green to black color. This is the same rock that makes up Apache Tears. This piece has an iridescent purple sheen in radiating rings when viewed in the sunshine. I have no idea of the age as it is an auction piece. It is in excellent condition, no chip or cracks and the surface is very smooth. It has a tiny lighter mark on the headdress but it is part of the stone itself.
