Barnum from the famous Barnum and Bailey Circus and intricate illustrations on almost every other page, some of which are quite comical because of the lack of information available on animal habits at the time of publication. This book has 514 pages so that makes for a lot of wonderful illustrations. The book has all the pages and no markings inside. The binding is loose, and as you can see from the photos, it was taped on the front and back cover, but it is still a great book to enjoy. Children will love the animal illustrations and adults find real humor in what the believed animals capable of in the 1800s.
