Here are a pair of large Sheffield crested domes with matching platters made about 1830. Now these are real Sheffield plate, i.e fused sterling and copper sheets, made before electricity enabled cheaper silver plated (electroplated) goods to be manufactured. They have the lapped edges, formed when the top layer of sterling is hammered over the edge to hide the copper layer. They also have the sterling square set into the copper sheet. I have had numerous small mugs from the Georgian period but never one of this form, and never one that could be described as a child's mug.It has cute applied borders and an attractive cast handle. Never been inscribed. Visible construction seam by the handle and a turned base. It has some intriguing scratched figures on the base, some small but all very light, that probably pertain to the construction. The most prominent is: 914 = 5" 7 dw. A large round sterling tray with a reeded border on 4 reeded triangular feet, made by John Harris of London in 1795. Elegantly plain with a wonderful crest of a chained bear. In extremely good condition with a good patina. Just a tiny shallow ding and some slight historical surface scratches. Very crisp engraving to the crest. Very clear hallmarks. Dimensions: 14.25" diameter, 1.75" high. Weight 40.5 troy oz.

A large bulbous sterling repousse sugar caster by Stieff of Baltimore. Embossed all over with high-relief floral repousse decoration. Bayonet attachment for the similarly decorated pierced lid. In very good condition. Clear repousse decoration. No monogram. A shallow ding in the base. Marked Stieff, S with a crown, Sterling, #187. Dimensions: 5.75" tall, 3.75" widest diameter. A beautiful pierced sterling dish in the form of a heart on 3 ball feet. Very pretty piercing and embossed scroll-work. In very good condition. No monogram. Just a couple of tiny dings. These 'heart' dishes come in various sizes. This is the Large size. There is one bigger and a few smaller. Marked Gorham, Lion, Anchor, G, Sterling, 965, and the date mark for 1951 (a 1 in a pentagon). Dimensions: 9.5" by 8.25". Weight 10 Troy oz.

An amazing sterling flower bowl on 4 feet with a pair of stunningly realistic bearded ram's head handles. Each foot is decorated with applied flowers sprouting to an engraved and chased floral spray. It has a 2-tiered silver-plated vermeil frog with a floral finial. Marked on the base with the Lion, Anchor, G, sterling and the letters EVD. Dimensions: 7.5" high, 13.5" across handles. An aesthetically pleasing repousse sterling tray, oval in form on an oval foot, with twin-looped naturalistic handles. The central oval clearing has an interesting crest of intertwined sprigs of a rose and a thistle. Seems to suggest an alliance, or marriage, of Scotland and England. In very good condition. Good clear repousse decoration. Marked S. Kirk & Son., 11 oz, for the period 1880-90. Dimensions: 13.25" long, 8" wide. Weight 18 Troy oz.

Here are a very impressive set of 4 cast-sterling candlesticks made in the George II style by Charles & Richard Comyns for Tiffany & Co., London in 1917. Charles & Richard Comyns were the sons of William Comyns, the much acclaimed silversmith of the Victorian era. Squat robust candlesticks in excellent condition. Pricked initials "MTB". Each hallmarked as pictured. Dimensions: 7.75" tall, base 4.8" square. Weight 59 Troy oz total.
