Here are a pair of large Sheffield crested domes with matching platters made about 1830. Now these are real Sheffield plate, i.e fused sterling and copper sheets, made before electricity enabled cheaper silver plated (electroplated) goods to be manufactured. They have the lapped edges, formed when the top layer of sterling is hammered over the edge to hide the copper layer. They also have the sterling square set into the copper sheet. A fabulous set of 12 fish forks by Tiffany in the Old French silver-plate pattern. Even Tiffany's silverplate is far more attractive than most sterling. This is a very pretty pattern with lots of detail, as you can see from the pics. Condition is excellent. No erosion of plating, no scratches, no pitting. 3-letter monogram as pictured. Fully marked: Tiffany & Co. EP. Pat. 1889. Dimensions: 6.25" long.

A very good pair of Old Sheffield wine coolers from around 1820 made by J. Watson & Co. In very good condition with a bit of rosing on the high points of the fluting. They bear the Heade crest, family of Martin Johnson Heade, the painter. 9.5" high, 9" across handles.
