Here is a beautiful sterling repousse bread tray made by the Baltimore Sterling Silver Company around about 1900 before it became the Stieff Company in 1904. The repousse pattern is of a very high quality and more condensed than usual. The condition is excellent with good detail to the decoration. No dents, repairs or monograms.

This is a magnificent sterling epergne fashioned in the 18th century style, with a large removeable bowl flanked by two smaller removeable bowls supported by two arms which slot into the main structure. Though it may appear flimsy it is of a sturdy construction with cast legs and decorative swags. The amazing thing is the matching sterling plateau. Sterling plateaus are rare but a matched epergne and plateau is pretty unique.
It is in extremely good condition. The only flaw I could detect was a ...click for details

This is a magnificent cased mug finely engraved in the aesthetic style by Walter and John Barnard, London 1878. Walter & John Barnard ran the business from April 1877 to June 1896. The Barnards were a dynastic family of silversmiths whose patriarch, Edward Barnard, took over the old and respected silversmithing firms of Chawner and Emes in 1828, after which successive generations of the Barnard family ran it till 1974 when it was sold.
The mug is in pristine condition. The engraving is as c ...click for details

This is a very good quality but highly intriguing set. There are 2 decanters and 10 cups with identical engraving and 2 other cups, indentical in form, size and wrigglework along the rim, but lacking the crest and having a monogram 'D'. They are well executed in the Oriental style with very fine engraved decoration, but bear a Western crest of a raised lion clutching a curved spear/axe above a motto ' CONSTANS CONTRARIA SPERNIT'. On the base of the decanters is the maker 'Gr ...click for details

To be honest I am not sure what it is for but it is a beautiful piece of handwrought sterling by Lebolt. It comes in three pieces: the main pot, of '1 Pint' capacity, with ivory insulators, for, I presume, the hot chocolate or coffee; a smaller pot with just a sterling handle, which presumably is for the milk and then, lastly, the lid. Each piece is fully marked with the Lebolt logo, Lebolt, Handbeaten, Sterling, #281, while the main pot has, in addition, 1Pint. 5.25" total height. ...click for details

A very fine example of handwrought silver by one of the pioneers in this field, William Waldo Dodge. It is very difficult to precisely date his work as there is very little information on him. What I do know is that he opened a workshop in Asheville, NC soon after WW 1 and died in 1971. In between he produced a remarkable array of handwrought silver from the plain and austere to the innovative and whimsical, which won him enormous acclaim from his peers and established him as one of the m ...click for details
