An extensive service in one of the most desirable patterns available in its original mahogany brass-bound case. Comprises 13 piece service for 12 with 4 servers, giving a total of 160 pieces. All monogramed with a 'B'. Name on brass plaque on case 'Barab'. Excellent condition through-out. I have pictured a tape alongside the pieces for your reference.

A very good pair of Old Sheffield wine coolers from around 1820 made by J. Watson & Co. In very good condition with a bit of rosing on the high points of the fluting. They bear the Heade crest, family of Martin Johnson Heade, the painter. 9.5" high, 9" across handles.

A very fine example of handwrought silver by one of the pioneers in this field, William Waldo Dodge. It is very difficult to precisely date his work as there is very little information on him. What I do know is that he opened a workshop in Asheville, NC soon after WW 1 and died in 1971. A very good pitcher profusely decorated with baskets and bunches of flowers and extensive scroll-work leaving a large vacant cartouche, free of any engraving. Marked with Gorham's hallmarks,#8 on its side (variation of the mark for 1893 ?), #1140, 4 pint, Sterling. 7.5" high. 20 Troy oz.

A fabulous 5 piece sterling cruet set in its original case. The case, with the stamp of W,Gale JR's Broadway address, is in very good condition except that the hinges, both present, have come unpinned. There are spaces for two salt and a mustard spoon but they are missing. The 5 pieces are in exceptional condition with a 4-letter monogram. Peppers are 6" high, mustard 4.75", salts 2".

SOLD 

A large plain soup ladle with an oval bowl and fiddle terminus. Stedman was very active in business as well as politics in 19c Raleigh, until his accidental death in 1833. His silversmithing career began in 1822 when he opened an establishment in Raleigh, which must have met with some success as he appeared to have taken on at least three apprentices. 13.5" long, 4.5' bowl

SOLD 

Here is an extremely rare item in fabulous condition. Standing 11" high and weighing 24 troy oz, it bears a contemporary monogram which appears to be WLS or WSL. James Spear was an active silversmith, as opposed to a mere retailer, in Charleston from 1846 to 1871, but formed a short-lived partnership with J.C.Wood , under the name of J.E.Spear & Co. This partnership lasted just the one year, 1849
