Each is engraved with a Coat-of-Arms, but to which institution they belong I am not certain. However, they do lend a decorative feature. The motto translates to: "I have chosen the way of truth". It is a popular motto and has been adopted by Elms ...click for details

A wonderful Irish sterling tea service of elegant form and extensive floral decoration. On each of the 4 corners the repousse shrubs 'sprout' an applied cast flower. Magnificent and imaginative workmanship in a good gauge of silver, look at the weight. There are only 4 pieces as English and Irish tea services usually do not bother with a waste bowl.
Made by Richard Sawyer Jr., of Dublin in 1846. Fully hallmarked on the base with an inscribed name "John Marshall".
