This is just a phenomenal sterling-mounted desk set, comprising a large inkwell and a paper-weight. They are both made by Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor of London in 1900, and fully hallmarked accordingly.
The inkwell consists of a stag-mounted, foliage-covered sterling lid on a heavy lobed crystal body, of square form.Inside the inkwell there is the original sterling-mounted glass inkpot, also hallmarked. The inkwell sits inside a heavy dark-wood base.
The paperweight is similar in design, a ...click for details

This is undoubtedly the very best trophy goblet I have owned. The repousse work is of the highest order in, both, artistry and craftsmanship. No skimping on the sterling either, check the weight ! And, what is more, it is in perfect condition and never been inscribed. I have just had it professionally polished as it was almost black with years of tarnish, and the detail that revealed itself was breathtaking.
Dimensions: 12.5" tall, 6.5" in diameter. Weight 44 Troy oz.

Another good example of Irish silversmithing. Typically, these bowls were made over 100 years previously but, being in such great demand, they have been reproduced since to this very day. This one was made by John Smyth of Dublin in 1892, and is a very pretty and well-made article. It is chased with a rural setting of a dog rescuing, I hope, a person while the mother/wife looks on with her arms raised in relief. The rest of the bowl is chased with a tranquil scene of swans and ducks amidst reeds ...click for details

This is a complete set of repousse goblets which does not come on the market very often. This is an old hand decorated set, from the estate of a Maryland family, with marks for 1932-1961. They are in extraordinary condition with fine crisp repousse and a gold wash to the interior. Fully marked under the foot as pictured.
I am selling the set as a whole, not individually.
Dimensions: 6.75" tall. 3.5" in diameter.
