Fabulous tray in enviable condition. Extensively repousse decorated gallery with inlaid mahogany base bearing just a few usage scratches. Fully hallmarked under the base rim: Jacobi & Jenkins, the tower mark, Sterling, 925/1000 Fine, Baltimore. This mark dates the tray at 1894-1908. Jacobi & Jenkins was originally founded in 1879 by A. Here is an exceptional pair of sterling grape shears by Gorham. It is fashioned from cast sterling which explains the above average weight. The handles are clad in grape vines and shell motifs all with a vermeil finish. The blades have steel edges attached.
Marked on the blade with Gorham's hallmarks and the date letter for 1891.

There is not enough room to picture every aspect of this tray, which in itself is a rare article. There are 8 vignettes, 7 of which illustrate various birds such as Glory the Cardinal and Sammy Jay the Blue Jay in beautiful acid-etched rural settings. The 8th vignette has the child's name "Anna Deere Wiman". In addition there is some amazing acid-etched scroll-work in the corners.
In extremely good condition, just one tiny ding, but no erosion of the fine detail in the decoration. ...click for details

Here is a beautiful sterling repousse bread tray made by the Baltimore Sterling Silver Company around about 1900 before it became the Stieff Company in 1904. The repousse pattern is of a very high quality and more condensed than usual. The condition is excellent with good detail to the decoration. No dents, repairs or monograms.
