Handwrought Sterling Bowl by Dodge, NC

A very fine example of handwrought silver by one of the pioneers in this field, William Waldo Dodge. It is very difficult to precisely date his work as there is very little information on him. What I do know is that he opened a workshop in Asheville, NC soon after WW 1 and died in 1971. In between he produced a remarkable array of handwrought silver from the plain and austere to the innovative and whimsical, which won him enormous acclaim from his peers and established him as one of the most notable figures in this genre. 7.75" diameter, 4.75" high. 19 Troy oz.
