This is a very good quality but highly intriguing set. There are 2 decanters and 10 cups with identical engraving and 2 other cups, indentical in form, size and wrigglework along the rim, but lacking the crest and having a monogram 'D'. They are well executed in the Oriental style with very fine engraved decoration, but bear a Western crest of a raised lion clutching a curved spear/axe above a motto ' CONSTANS CONTRARIA SPERNIT'. On the base of the decanters is the maker 'Grish Chander Dutt, Bhowanipore, Calcutta'. 19th Century is my closest guess. Probably made for an English resident, officer maybe, during India's British rule. Just a couple of small dings are the only flaws. Decanters 11.5" tall, cups 3.25". 57 Troy oz.
