Repousse coin silver goblets by John Kitts, KE c.1840

This is a wonderful pair of large goblets with repousse decoration of scrolls and flowers. Each is further adorned with a crest of a bat. Amazing condition for their age. John Kitts was a very prolific and highly acclaimed silversmith in Louisville from 1836 to 1878, most of that time in noteworthy businesses and partnerships such Lemon & Kendricks, Kitts & Stoy, Kitts & Werne and, finally, John Kitts & Co.
