Fabulous tray in enviable condition. Extensively repousse decorated gallery with inlaid mahogany base bearing just a few usage scratches. Fully hallmarked under the base rim: Jacobi & Jenkins, the tower mark, Sterling, 925/1000 Fine, Baltimore. This mark dates the tray at 1894-1908. Jacobi & Jenkins was originally founded in 1879 by A. Jacobi, teamed up with W.A .Jenkins from 1894 to 1908, then succeeded by Jenkins & Jenkins until 1915 when they were bought out by The Schofield Co., of Baltimore, who were in turn bought out by the Stieff Co., also of Baltimore. Small, hardly noticeable, 3-letter monogram on base rim, JRB in scrolling letters. Dimensions: 22" long x 18" wide x 2.5" deep.
