Sterling overlay vase, by La Pierre, green.

A very attractive large Art Nouveau, sterling overlay vase by the LaPierre Manufacturing Company, of Newark and New York. They were bought by the International Silver Company in 1929. The base has large engraved leaves which seem to sprout exotic bulbs and flowers until they meet the plain sterling band around the rim. In perfect condition, engraving still clear and sharp. No monogram. No cracks, flakes or missing overlay. Marked along the base, faint but clear. Dimensions: Height 12.5", base diameter 6.5".
