Shelley Cup and Saucer Trio Queen Anne Balloon Tree

Art deco in design, this fabulous Shelley Queen Anne Balloon Tree Trio consists of a cup, saucer, and dessert plate. The pattern number is 11624 with an Rd# 723404. This pattern design is one of Shelley’s loveliest examples of hand painting. Bright blue rims and a blue handle set this trio off. On the trees are green leaves with pink, blue and yellow balloons while blue butterflies flutter nearby. Rolling hills with green grass and green shrubbery surround the bottom of the balloon tree. A wonderful yellow border surrounds the top of the cup and rim of the saucer and plate. This set produced 1925-1940. The cup measures 2 ½”x 3 ½”, the saucer and the plate measure 5 ¼” and 6 ¼” respectively. All three pieces are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, crazing, staining or restoration. The cup, saucer and plate all have the famous Shelley "ping"! It is quite remarkable that such delicate china can survive for so many years in nearly the same condition as when it left the factory some 80 years ago.
