Very nicely done .999 silver memorial medal for Admiral Karl Donitz. Donitz passed away in 1980 and this medal was produced in 1981. The reverse of the medal commemorates the U-boat war specifically. The medal has not been removed from its wrapping but does have some toning to the bottom left obverse. Also comes with a 20 page autobiographical booklet on Donitz as well as a numbered certificate of authenticity. This COA is numbered 982.
Interesting antique firemen's medal dated October 4-5-6 1923. Very nice fireman artwork on the medallion portion. While fire medals are not particularly rare this one is also notable as it has the ribbon and cockade which are normally all long gone. As can be seen in the images the red ribbon has some damage and the MEMBER bar to the top of the ribbon needs a couple of stitches to reattach to the cockade...
Super cool medal given to spectators at the 1912 Air Show in Berlin. Students of history will note 1912 as a very early date when airplanes were hardly thought of in military terms. This was 2 years before WWI and only 9 years after the Wright brothers first flight. I think that anything flight related before WWI is supremely interesting. Very cool medal.
30 Pfennig coin with Hitler bust. Over the years I have seen a handful of these turn up. While they are scarce there are too many to call a "prototype" so I imagine it was a trial run of some sort. At any rate, an interesting and hard to find item.
20 kreuzer (Zwanziger). Ioseph II (1765-1790) Emperor of Holy Roman Empire. Nice, historical coin.
Silver denarius of Severus Pius issued about 180AD. Reverse shows victory seated on throne.
This offering is an 19th century Belgian agricultural medal from the city of Liege. The maker is Raymond de MEESTER. An interesting medal.
