This picture frame is just simply gorgeous. Shows the Bavarian crown and motto "IN TREUE FEST" at the top and a general at the bottom with a Blue Max around his neck and treacherous looking lions at his sides. There are draped flags at the top and the bottom. The sides are intricate pillars showing the other German state crests. Images 6-10 show the front and back shots of a crack and two repair jobs. I am not a big gas mask guy but what struck me on this one was the condition. The rubber hasn't stiffened hardly a bit over all these decades and is still bouncy and super pliant. Well marked and the surface dust could clean up quickly and easily. Since I am not a big gas mask guy I am not sure if anything is missing but it all looks complete to me. The bag does have some damage at the bottom and the straps are cut. Each strap is hair over 3 feet long so I doubt they connected to each other ...click for details

This was always a personal favorite as far as flags. This flag signified that the qualified harbor pilot was in control of the respective ship. Special harbor pilots were (And I belive the practice is still used) because these pilots knew the obstacles, tides, currents and other details of the particular harbor in question. The 1936 Berlin Olympics were a landmark event of the century. Hitler and a rebuilt Germany was being showcased for the world to see and admire. It was a magnificent demonstration and the death and destruction of the war was only three short years later. These very interesting booklets are from 5 different events; Gymnastics, handball, boxing, jumping and football. These is a neat and and and fairly screams front line combat. From the bullion insignia to the loose overall shape this black piped visor cap certainly has the "been there" look that I prefer over the "pretty" look. The outside is very displayable with no mothing and what I think is a cool look. The cord seems loose but is original material and probably just reflects the way this fellow like to wear it.
