This is a great looking WWI German patriotic pin or brooch. The center is a transparent dome with an Imperial navy flag. Around that is a laurel wreath with bow. Around that layer is an attractive blue enamel field with gold colored border. Very nice piece; One would think maybe for the wife of a sailor. A little over 4cm wide.

This is a rare medal with great history behind it. This commemorative war medal was instituted by Elector (Kurfürst) Wilhelm II on 14 March 1821 to recognize Hessian soldiers who took part in the second and final round of the Napoleonic Wars 1814-1815. Inscribed on the edge is "AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ" which translates to "From captured cannon", indicating that the metal used for this decoration was from a cannon captured at Waterloo...

Absolutely lovely Imperial German war veteran flag or standard or banner. Whatever it is it is gorgeous and shows the manufacturing techniques of a bygone time. The flag has a nice, solid cotton base and sandwiched by a silk layer on each side. As is usually the case with such flags the silk has been damaged. It just doesn't take a very long period of neglect to ruin silk. Luckily the embroidery and bullion is anchored to the cotton so no details or trim work is lost...

Very nice German engraved officer sword. very handsome lion head features red ruby eyes. The front langet shows sabers and pennants indicating the officer was from the artillery branch of service. The back langet shows a blank shield where the officer could have opted to add a monogram. The knuckle bow features another monogram shield laying in front of more sabers, a lance and a cartridge box; All under an iron cross. The grip is a high quality fish skin with twisted silver triple wire wrap...

1849 dated model 1840 cavalry saber by Ames Mfg Co Cabotville. This model which predated the model 1860 is a big, heavy thing nicknamed "The Wristbreaker" and the only thing worse then swinging one would be to be on the other end. The handle wrapping is long gone and the metal parts have been painted gold long, long ago as was often done in veteran groups such as GAR. This is more subtle then in my flash heavy photos but gold painted it is...

First class iron cross box. This does need a little bit of tlc but mostly superficial. The upper front panel is a bit loose, some of the leatherette could be glued down and the thin fabric covering the hinge is frayed out. The first two are fixable by a spot of glue and the fabric should probably be trimmed away to make it unnoticeable since manyhave the hinge showing anyway. On the plus side, the hinge is in fine shape and the snap clasp works...

Interesting bright red sash with kanji that translates to "Naval Aircraft Technician". I believe this would be worn on the flight deck in a similar manner that we still have different color shirts for maintenance, fire control etc. This way the confusion of a bustling aircraft carrier flight deck is a little easier to figure out...

Very nice patriotic WWI pin featuring a very nicely executed miniature enamel blue max or Pour le Merite in silver colored wreath. Featured in profile in the center is Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and Kaiser Wilhelm. Probably Austrian as Franz Ferdinand is featured before the Wilhelm. A very cool miniature of one of the great military orders which, of course, was used by both Austria and Germany. Circular, measuring 2.5 cm in diameter. Have not seen this one before.

Great looking WWI German regimental ring. The enamel center is cleverly designed to represent a shoulder board. To the left of the enamel shoulder strap is 1914 and to the right is 1914. The inside of the band is hallmarked 860 for the silver content. Because it is silver and was worn the years (Mostly 1914) do show some light rub wear but are still perfectly visible. Very nice regimentally marked piece.

Very rare 1930's private purchase USMC EGA cap insignia (Eagle, Globe and Anchor). Terrific detail throughout with longitudinal and latitudinal lines. The eagle's right wing reverse has the MEYER METAL logo and the reverse of the left wing has the NS Meyer shield logo. The lower right corner of the eagle is darker then the rest of the EGA. Presumably this had something to do with how it was stored but whatever the reason my golden rule is to just leave it alone...

Extremely rare and extremely cool 3/4 sized 1914 Iron Cross Second Class. This extremely rare and extremely high quality private purchase medal has the feel and toning of silver. The ring is hallmarked with what looks like the crest of the firm Rothe & Neffe of Vienna. With my calipers I measure the wide of the end of the cross arms at just a hair under 18mm. On the regulation EKII, shown in the images for comparison purposes only, the arms measure 24mm at the end...

Very rare item with a high cool factor. This nicely toned silver stickpin is for members of the Bavarian air service and the wreath and frame are identical to Imperial German pilot badges with a Bavarian crown at the top. The enamel center shows a gold winged propeller over a Bavarian-blue field. The post is correctly knurled. The back is maker marked L LERCH MUNCHEN and SILBER 850 for the silver content.

Very interesting engraving on this Imperial German artillery sword. Gorgeous blade is clean as a whistle and bright as a mirror with nicely executed and detailed engraving. One side shows the limbered artillery and stands of arms motif we see on some engraved artillery swords. The other side shows a mounted soldier, horse head and floral motif engraved along with the dedication Fritz Neuf Weihnachten 1910 (With Weinachten translating to Christmas). Red felt and white leather washers are in place...

Lovely Imperial German WWI patriotic pin. This piece features a 1914 Iron Cross with the slogan GOTT MIT UNS on the three upper arms and a portrait of Kaiser Hindenburg in the center. The beaded suspension loop is finished off with a miniature 1914 Iron Cross ribbon. The reverse is DRGM marked. The cross is about 2.4cm wide and high and the ribbon is about 1.5cm wide. Very cool patriotic piece with a lot of personality.

Quite respectable WWII Japanese Type 95 NCO sword. Scabbard does show honest age wear to the original paint. The blade has some dark areas but much of what is shown in the attached images is dried cosmoline. Sword and scabbard have matching numbers 76707 and handle has the expected arsenal stamps. Nice original example priced right for someone who wants a representative piece.

Superb Luftwaffe winter flight helmet by Siemens. This model LPkW101 was the later war cold weather flight helmet with significantly upgraded electronic communications. This example is just about perfect. Shell shows soft, healthy, unscuffed brown leather. Interior wool is bright and clean with the original fabric Siemens label which is likewise in perfect shape with crisp, clean and well contrasting wording with no running colors. The main plug is bakelite, maker logo marked and also marked BLK...
