Very nice set of 16 color prints that would look great framed in the Man Cave. Except for one showing a signals unit hanging communication wire they are all combat related. Tropical to winter, infantry, tanks, artillery, assault boats, flamethrowers, grenades, machine guns etc. Basically anything heer related. The paper is overall crisp and clean but a few have small folded over corners from previous owners being careless when closing the envelope...

Superb item. The top of the sake cup reads "Prize". Writing around the rim on the outside translates to Showa 8 (1938) Warship Kaga. I am not sure what this was awarded for but I would assume it had something to do with some military skill. The Kaga was one of the four aircraft carriers sunk in the Battle of Midway which was the turning point in the Pacific war so this attribution is really a very significant point. A really nice item which would be at home in even an advanced collection.

Small plaque with profile bust of Helmuth James Graf von Moltke. Moltke was a very forward thinking Field Marshall. At the top of this piece is a famous quote of his "Erst Wagen Dann Wagen" the meaning of which translates to "First you leap". His main theory being that one should attack strongly but never to plan to deeply past the point where contact is made. Since there are simply too many possibilities and varying factors it does no good to over plan to far into the future of a conflict...

Wonderfully made naval cannon made from wood from the U.S Frigate Constitution. This frigate, of course, was famous for some very famous successes against highly skilled British ships in the war of 1812. When the ship was overhauled in 1927 the old wood was made into souvenirs and sold to the public (Imagine that happening today?)...

The sinking of the Lusitania was considered an acceptable act in Germany and a medal was minted in honor of the incident. The British, of course, considered it very much a war crime. They reproduced the German medal and used it as a propaganda tool emphasizing the civilian loss of life. Indeed. on the reverse of the medal we even see Death working the ticket stand for prospective passengers. Medal is in its original box. The box shows solid wear and is missing one edge...

Wonderful set of four photos photos of Anzio Annie or the Anzio Express taken by and including American soldiers. These look to have been removed from an album. Needless to say, unpublished photos of such a historically important item such as this are a good find. Being 4 different photos these are priced to sell. Anzio Annie and Anzio Express are the two Krups built rail guns that were shelling American positions at the Anzio landing...

Either a small medallion or a token (About 3.5cm diameter) featuring G.FELDMARSCHALL V. HINDENBURG. The reverse has the saying of Hindenburg's: "nicht nur durchhalten sondern gr√ľndlich siegen" or "Don't just persevere but thoroughly win". Now that is really a cool thought. Dated 1914 1915 1916 around the edges. The edge is stamped IMIT BRONCE which is easy enough to translate. Nice wartime propaganda type piece. I do honestly think that Hindenburg is a very underrated historical figure...

Very interesting French flag that I assume is a regimental flag as the three barred symbols toward the end can't, in my eyes, be anything besides battalion colors. As there are very few French flags remaining from the war (A side effect of being out of the war very early and very quickly) there is little to compare this to but the construction is absolutely typical of WWII era with type of grommets used, type of fringe and how the sewing is executed...

Powerful plaque depicting angels casting out a German soldier from the city of Reims as the cathedral burns in the distance and the French civilians lie on the ground. The burning of this cathedral was one of the major propaganda points for the French during WWI. The plaque is in wonderful shape. The box is intact and the pressure fit button works. There is damage to the lid lining as per last photo and a little bit in the front corners...

French historical medal commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789. Medal by Jean-Bertrand Andrieu. There are some things the French are just better at then anyone else; Food, wine, fluffy dogs, storming spooky prisons and making big fancy medals. This impressive (If historically inaccurate) portrayal of the storming of the Bastille is really an impressive work of art. At about 79mm in diameter this is a large item and sure is an attention grabber. On the reverse some jerk scratched some...

Here is a great item for the guy who understands the importance of this unit. We recently bought a collection and this belonged to the owner. He was sent to Europe right after the war and the unit was interrogating Nazis and gauging political climate and ramifications in post war Europe. This collection was really full of unique and interesting items rarely encountered, but this plaque was actually from his unit in the 1107th ARASU. I know two things about this unit. First, the 150 attachment wa...

This picture frame is just simply gorgeous. Shows the Bavarian crown and motto "IN TREUE FEST" at the top and a general at the bottom with a Blue Max around his neck and treacherous looking lions at his sides. There are draped flags at the top and the bottom. The sides are intricate pillars showing the other German state crests. Images 6-10 show the front and back shots of a crack and two repair jobs. To be honest, though, there is so much going on in this frame that even when one is looking for...

Very interesting Honorable Discharge from the Army of the Confederate States. Condition is rough but I doubt many of these have survived, much less even given out as the Confederacy was never in a good position to just let trained soldiers walk away. The ink is very faded but I know "document guys" do have ways of bringing old, faded ink back to life. It is possible to make out a lot of the details, though. This certificate was given to William H Dukes, a private of Captain Francis M (?) Company...

This document is an affidavit stating that this soldier served in the Continental Army during the revolution. Basically it states that John Pratt of Dublin, county of Cheshire in New Hampshire served in the last three years of the war. It is signed by what looks like Joseph Atherton. After the signature this fellow states that at the time of enlistment Pratt lived in another town but I can't quite make it out. Very cool document and it is always nice finding something related to the Revolutionar...

This lovely, unique Civil War relic is out of my collection. Carved by a confedrate veteran in remembrance of the battle of First Bull Run, this pipe has every spare piece of space carved with something clever. The pipe bowl is in the shape of a bull's head with the underlined word "RUN" right between his eyes. Above this is a soaring eagle. Below this word is a southern gentleman leading Abraham Lincoln by a chain. The southerner's name looks to be "Sowarel"; I have no idea who this is and I ma...
