Here is a great item for the guy who understands the importance of this unit. We recently bought a collection and this belonged to the owner. He was sent to Europe right after the war and the unit was interrogating Nazis and gauging political climate and ramifications in post war Europe. This collection was really full of unique and interesting items rarely encountered, but this plaque was actually from his unit in the 1107th ARASU. I know two things about this unit...

Very scarce 1930's German communist pin. This was given out at the 1931 Soldaritatstag (Translation is obvious) which I assume was a big communist kumbaya fest. Very rare to find pre-war German communist items as these would likely be a death sentence during the Nazi regime. The IAH was Internationale Arbeiter-Hilfe and was, in fact, abolished in 1933. This was in a small grouping recently found and I don't actually recall seeing any others. Neat.

Very cool G.A.R. kepi for the first New Hampshire regiment which fought at First Bull Run and other notable engagements. Very neat bullion patches and GAR buttons. Very solid structural condition. Damage consists of 2 nips to the fabric and a blister to the bottom of the visor all shown in the photos. Nips are hard to notice because of the dark color of the hat overall. Label looks to read "THE M. C. LILLEY & CO COLUMBUS OHIO MANUFACTURERS OF MILITARY AND SOCIETY GOODS"...

Very cool GAR medal. Dated April 15th 1903 and for the First New York Regiment. Some missing fabric to ribbon but gold finish to the medal is near perfect. Hard to find unit specific GAR medals let alone to a cool unit like the 1st New York.

While these are lovely arrows I can not accurately date them so please consider them superb display items but not antiques. That being said, they are terrifically made. The shafts are perfectly straight. The feathers and points are both wrapped on with what looks like real sinew. The points are finely knapped and terrific examples. One has a tiny flake off of the tip which is only noticable on very close inspection (See last photo). This is really a neat pair.

This is about as good as a collector can hope for in a second class Iron Cross.Beautiful uncleaned look with no damage. Magnetic center core has a perfect halo along the silver border. The ribbon was neatly sewn shuy at the top all those years ago and is perfect with a gentle toning to the white field. The ring is marked GU800. I periodically see rings marked just 800 but it is a real treat to find one with a hallmark as well...

Cool grouping from a member of the 90th Bomb heavy bomber group. This unit fought in Asia and was famously called the "Jolly Rogers" after their skull and crossed bones unit ID. The patch is blue with red stripe with one nip about 11 o'clock and some rub burn around the bottom edge (See photo). Also included is an excellent 11 place miniature medal bar and a unit history from one of the reunions. Very fun set.

Interesting grouping for Warren H Lauder. The center piece is a nice sterling airborne glider assault qualification badge / wings. Includes 8 photos, one of which is an official ID type photo. Century Division Rangers patch (Set with Ranger patch and 100 patch) as well as his lucky 13th Airborne Division patch and an original period Glider Pilot Song. The last three photos show three documents which are just photocopies the family gave. They are very lightly rumpled which is how I got them...

Nice, hard to find badge. Aluminum manufacture observer badge by GWL or Gebruder Wegerhoff Ludenscheid. Besides normal age wear there is subtle hit the eagle's right wingtip and, a little below this, is a hit to the edge of the wreath (This is small and on the back side of the wreath only). These two points are not bad at all and quite excusable on a scarcer badge.

Civil war foot officer sword by Collins and Co. Hartford Co. Dated 1862, so a nice early date. Blade is engraved with floral pattern, a large "US", an eagle with a ribbon in its beak and arrows in its claw, and various flags, drums, shields and polearms. Handle is a beauty with nicely patinated brass with a fair amount of gilt left and no wobble when twisted. Perfect wire wrap over undamaged fish skin grip...
